Works in Google Sheets (free Google account) and Microsoft Excel 2016 or newer.

One file per style that your sewing floor and your client can both work from. List every operation with its machine, seam width and seconds, and the sheet adds up sewing time, SMV and labor cost per garment for each finishing tier. Around it sit the cover page, bill of materials, measurements with tolerances, construction details, labels, packing and a revision log, plus a one-page printout.

Made for small cut-and-sew and CMT factories that sew batches for clothing brands and wholesale clients, and for small brands that hand a style to a factory: tees, long sleeves, hoodies, zip hoodies, sweatshirts and joggers. Built by a data analyst together with a working cut-and-sew workshop.

What's inside

  • Start Here

Quick guide, your factory details, settings (labor cost per minute, planned efficiency, operators, units) and your lists of equipment groups, sections, stitch types, garment types, clients and sizes

  • Cover

Style, client, season, sizes and fit, finishing tier, decoration, two frames for your front and back sketches, and a summary: total seconds, SMV, labor, materials, seconds by section, Economy / Standard / Premium side by side and a checks panel

  • Operations

The operation breakdown: section, op number, operation, equipment group, seam width, stitch type, needles and seconds, with an x for each tier it belongs to; SMV, labor and a time bar per operation

  • BOM

Fabric, trims, labels and packaging: placement, color, consumption, waste and cost per garment for the selected tier

  • Spec

Points of measure for up to 10 sizes with tolerance, short and tall length adjustments, grading checks and a sample measurement check

  • Construction

Seam and stitch types, stitch density, seam width, thread and bartacks, each linked to its operation

  • Labels & Packaging

Label placement and attachment, fold, polybag and carton size ratios with gross weight

  • Revisions

Every change with stage, who asked, decision and days waiting

  • Print

A one-page tech pack: Floor version with operations and seconds, Client version with materials; neither shows your costs

Why you'll like it

  • Seconds, not guesses: time each operation once and see the sewing minutes, SMV and labor cost of the whole garment
  • Three finishing tiers in one breakdown: mark which operations and materials belong to Economy, Standard or Premium and compare them side by side
  • Line output estimate: pieces per day for your number of operators, shift hours and planned efficiency
  • Checks that catch mistakes before the sample room does: unknown equipment groups, duplicate op numbers, missing seconds, sizes that grade the wrong way, sample points out of tolerance, cartons over the weight limit, changes waiting too long for approval
  • Client-supplied labels and trims marked as such and kept at zero cost
  • Short, Regular and Tall fits from one measurement table
  • The same table layouts as the other spreadsheets in our Sewing & Apparel line, so operations and materials copy straight across
  • Built by a data analyst: every number is a formula you can trace. No subscription, no app, any currency, cm or inches, kg, meters or yards

Good to know

  • One style per file: make a copy of the file for each new style. A sample zip hoodie from a made-up factory is included so you can see every part working, and Start Here shows how to clear it.
  • Up to 200 operations, 60 materials, 40 points of measure, 60 construction lines and 60 revisions per style.
  • Sketches are not included: paste your own front and back drawings or photos into the frames on Cover and Print.
  • Seconds and labor cost come from your own time study and rate; the sample numbers are examples, not industry standards.
  • Labor cost here is per garment at your rate. For overhead, margin and batch quotes, use a costing sheet.
  • Best used on a computer; you can view it in the Google Sheets app on your phone.
  • Using a Mac?
  • For use in one business. Please do not resell or share the files.
