How to make your copy of a Google Sheets template
Every template comes with START-HERE.pdf. Its MAKE A COPY button puts your own copy of the spreadsheet in your Google Drive. All you need is a free Google account.
Open START-HERE.pdf
Open the PDF you downloaded from Etsy in a PDF app or your browser, where links are clickable.
Sign in to Google
In the same browser, sign in to your Google account. A free account is enough.
Click MAKE A COPY
Click the dark blue MAKE A COPY button. In a bundle, there is one button per spreadsheet: click each one.
Confirm the copy
Google asks whether you want to make a copy of the file. Click Make a copy.
It is saved to your Drive
Your copy opens right away and is saved to your Google Drive, named "Copy of …". Only you can see it. Rename it by clicking the file name at the top.
Start on the Start Here tab
The first tab explains the settings, the colors and the sample data. Tabs are at the bottom of the screen.
Your copy is private
Your copy belongs to your Google account. I can't see it or anything you type into it, and your changes never touch the original template, which stays view-only.
Finding it later, or starting over
Open Google Drive or the Google Sheets home page and look for the file name. Need a clean start one day? Click MAKE A COPY in START-HERE.pdf again: you get a fresh copy with the sample data.
